The Meaning of Our Name
The name Shakeid is drawn from a biblical word found in the Scriptures. In Hebrew, shāqēd refers to the almond tree, a tree noted in the Bible for its early blossoming. The name is used in Scripture as part of God’s own communication, pointing not to human authority, but to His faithfulness.
In the book of Jeremiah, the Lord asked the prophet what he saw. Jeremiah answered that he saw the branch of an almond tree. The Lord then explained the meaning of what was seen—not as a title or calling for the prophet, but as a declaration of God’s own character.
“You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.”
— Jeremiah 1:12 (NKJV)
In this passage, the almond tree serves as a visual reference through which God speaks about His vigilance and faithfulness. The emphasis of the text rests on the Lord Himself—on His attentiveness to His Word and His commitment to fulfill what He has spoken.
The Scriptures consistently testify that God is faithful to what He promises and attentive to His people.
“He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
— Psalm 121:4 (NKJV)
For this reason, the name Shakeid is understood as a biblical reminder drawn from Scripture. It does not function as a spiritual title, a claim of authority, or a special designation. Rather, it points attention to the truth that God remains faithful, watchful, and true to His Word.
Shakeid Ministries International uses this name to reflect confidence in God’s faithfulness, not in human insight or spiritual standing. Our trust rests in the Lord who watches over His Word and brings it to pass in His time.
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
— Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV)
